New lip love - Collection 2000 Pink Shock

Theres only one thing I've been wearing on my lips the past week or so and thats collection 2000 Lasting Colour Lipstick in Pink Shock. Available in Boots and Superdrug for £2.99.
I love a bright pink lip to cheer me up on a gloomy day, especially teamed with bare eye lids and lashings of mascara for a fresh, bright young look.
This lipstick is hugely scary to look at first but I find after blotting a few times, it leaves a really lovely, long lasting bubblegum lip. In its brightest form, after a few layers, this colour strongly resembles MAC's Candy Yum Yum which was limited edition, so if your a fan or missed out on that one, pink shock would make a great dupe!
Collection 2000 claim this lipstick is long lasting, locking to lips all day. A soft and smooth formula, and transfer and kiss proof. I find this lipstick to be smooth and non-drying which is great for someone who suffers with very dry lips in winter! I wouldn't say it locks to lips all day, but I only have to re-apply this once or twice again through a 16 hour day, which is not bad for a £2.99 product.
As I mentioned before I find the best way to apply this lipstick is to pre-moisturised lips ( I love MAC lip  conditioner or Carmex) after the first layer lightly blot with kitchen roll and then repeat the process. This method gives me the best colour and helps the lipstick to stick around longer.
I have been wearing this lipstick constantly since I bought it,which is unusual for me to do with a product, so this is definitely a winner. I need to go back to Boots and see what other colours I can pick up in this range.

What's you favourite bright pink lipstick?

Rimmel Scandal eyes Mascara

Rimmel London Scanal Eyes Mascara rrp £6.99
available at Boots and Superdrug

I picked this up as part of Superdrug's 3 for 2 offer on all cosmetics, I don't usually buy make up from any of the brands sold in chemists, however I have yet to find a higher end mascara worth the extra pennies so for now its one product I don't mind being cheap and cheerful.
I didn't need a mascara at the time but for some reason the bright, tacky packaging lured me in! The brush is a traditional mascara wand (no plastic bristles thanks!) and is super large, for super large lashes? we'd hope.
Rimmels says its a breakthrough mascara! (whatever that is) It is suppose to give you serious volume without clumping basically, hurrah!
I wasn't expecting much from this mascara to be honest and I really hate it when products make ridiculous claims, but the more I use this, the more I like it.
I wouldn't call this a "breakthrough" in mascara,  but it does give some decent volume whilst avoiding clumps, especially when compared to my oldest fav, Boujoirs volume clubbin'.  Its a good everyday mascara for those who like volume and definition and for the price you can't really grumble.
The best quality of this mascara I think, is the way it really opens up your eyes, I don't think I've ever looked so awake! and for this, despite your wild claims and ridiculous packaging, I really like you Rimmel Scandal eyes.

p.s for extra lol'z go watch the t.v advert for this, ridiculous!

Feel Unique Beauty Box: November contents and review

Originally a GlossyBox subscriber, I decided to switch to the Feelunique.com Beauty box subscription after seeing a few posts on various blogs about last months box, and Im so glad I did......

The box itself is slightly smaller in size, which I actually prefer as it makes the box look more "full", I love the sleek matte black texture and the box mechanism which opens like a drawer rather than a lid. The empty box would be perfect as make up or jewellery storage.

Contents:
Emma Hardie Amazing face cleansing balm and cloth      Schwarzkoph OSIS+ dust it  hair powder     Xen-Tan Deep bronze luxe faux tan      Goldwell Duelsenses Rich repair hair treatment    Bella Pierre multitasking shimmer powder      Prada Candy purfume sample

I am really excited to try the Xen-Tan as I've heard so much about it, I can see me using the 10% off code included in the box to purchase a full size! I already own the OSIS dust it, however I am glad of a replacement as mine has almost ran out, and that would have cost me the best part of £10! This box has already paid for itself!
I am also intrigued by the Bella Pierre shimmer powder, the description says you can use it as an eyeshadow, add to eyeliner, lipgloss, blusher or use as a highlight, interesting!

Overall I think the Feelunique beauty box is the one for me, I originally decided to switch from Glossybox as I felt whilst the samples from Glossybox were lovely, they were way out of my price range. I had never heard of the brands, nor could I ever justify spending that amount of money on the full size products. When I read about the Feelunique box I could tell it would be more tailored to my taste and price range, and this box really lived up to my expectations! It contains brands I know and trust as well as a couple of new ones who's price ranges and availability are not unachievable.
Whats more you get 10% off all of the brands featured in your box, and are obviously all available on feelunique.com, with free delivery!
A monthly subscription will cost you £9.95, Free Royal Mail delivery (hurrah)
This is one thing I will not be unsubscribing from anytime soon!

MAC Melba Blush

MAC powder blush in "Melba" £17

Because of not owning (and therefore needing) a peach toned blush, I felt I was missing out! I always grab my topshop "neon rose" cream blush in the morning, but since it's winter and my skin is getting paler I wanted something a little more subtle and "peach".
In the pan I found this blush a little pink on the pink side,  but when applied MAC Melba is the perfect true peach, not too pinky or bright like some peach blushes can be, it leaves a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks.
Not being one for shiny cheeks, I primarily went for Melba because it's a matte finish (my favourite), I find the MAC matte finish blushes are true to colour, sheer enough but easily build-able for the intensity you want, without any of that dreaded shimmer which I find just too much for winter mornings.
I also think this would look great with a tan!

graze box

Bit of a different post today, I received my first graze box!
I had heard about the scheme a while ago but never got round to ordering a box, that was until I got my hands on a voucher for a free one.

Im sure you all know about the concept of the graze box, if you don't then it is basically a postal subscription of healthy snacks, delivered as often as you like, to wherever you like.
set up your profile online, tell graze.com what snacks appeal to you, what you want sent soon and which you never want to receive in your boxes and they'll do the rest for you.
Each box is nutritionally balanced and should last you around 2-3 days.

In my first box I received :
a cheddar, red onion and chutney foccia
 golden honey cashew nuts
fig roll: fig & sesame balls, sponge pieces & walnuts
korean chilli rice crackers

each snack is individually packaged to keep it fresh and is the correct size of a recommended portion,
you also get a handy booklet to tell you the nutritional information so you know what your eating
graze boxes are £3.49 each but you can get your first box free with this code: HQQ3MW6  whats more you can cancel anytime!

I will deffinitly be keeping my weekly subscription for a little while, simply as a way to try out new snacks that I wouldn't have tried otherwise, I can always go to a health food shop and purchase larger quantities at a later date to save money!
If anyone has tried graze boxes before, I wanna know what your favs are! I love the chilli crackers and cashew nuts!

black and white.

dress: asos.com    belt: primark    watch: primark men's

I have been buying lots of winter clothes recently which is great for my wardrobe, not so great for my bank balance. I found this chiffon dress in the asos sale and I really love the lace collar detail and long sleeves. It was originally £35 but I paid just £17.50!
The new look shoes are going to be my everyday black shoe as they are so comfy and give me the extra hight I need, being a wedge they are a lot easier to get around on than my topshop allegra's, which have been reserved for short walks and nights out only!

a weekend off....

Cape:  asos.com

This weekend I had the whole weekend off! what a novelty, no uni, no work, no commitments of any sort!
Saturday was spent shopping, although I didn't really buy anything, I was so pleased with the arrival of my duffle cape from asos I didn't really want anything else. So Sam and I pottered about town and then went to Nando's for dinner.

seeing as I had a voucher, I treated myself to a manicure from nails inc.
I had the new purple Magnetic polish, which looks like a normal purple polish until you put a magnet over is and duh duh! swishy looking nails.

Hidden under that enormous cape was:
blazer: H&M    vest: Primark    skirt: american apparel    scarf: primark    shoes: new look    bag: ebay

Today (sunday) has been spent largely stuffing my face. We cooked a lamb roast w/ the best yorkshire puddings I've ever made! (Wish I had taken a piccy, my Ma would be so proud!) Polished off with Haagen-Dazs ice cream, yuuum. Diet starts tomorrow.
I also cant stop listening to Bombay Bicycle clubs new album, a different kind of fix. so good!

shuffle.

If there's one thing I hate about Bristol, It's the wind. Cycling to uni against 25 mph winds today was not fun. lets just say I left the house with lovely straight hair and turned up looking a little less than glamourous. Got loads of work to catch up on tonight, huff :(

scarf: H&M    jacket: Primark    dress: H&M    boots: Primark

so chuffed with these boots I found in Primark for £25! They look and feel expensive and make me feel so tall (amazing feeling when your so short!)

bareminerals foundation in fairly light    mac harmony blush     Daniel Sandler jumbo jet mascara    Topshop lips in Hazzard

workin' 925

jacket: Primark £20    dress: H&M £12.99    belt: Vinatage    rings: H&M £3.99    boots: Topshop £75

Picked up this leather jacket from primark a few days ago, my old dorothy perkins one had gotten too big for me and every time I put it on I always ended taking it back off because it didn't look right.  So  I figured it was time for a new one. I thought £20 was quite pricey for a primark jacket but I really liked it and hadn't seen any others around that were as nice.
